GRAPES: 100% Barbera d’Asti. PRODUCTION ZONE: Montegrosso d’Asti and Costigliole. There are five vineyards situated within different exposures, the soil varies from sandy to calcareous.The average age of the vineyards is around 60 years, and the yield of grapes per hectare is 6-7 tons. The grapes are harvested around the end of September and fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeast, along with maceration on the skins for 7-10 days. After that, the 5 Barbera selections coming from 5 different vineyards (with their own soil and climate characteristics) are blended.30% of the fermentation takes place in large barrels and 70% in stainless steel vats to maintain its typical freshness as long as possible. The wine is bottled after 12-14 months. COLOUR: Intense ruby red. SCENTS: Ethereal, soft with sweet notes that recall black cherries, red cherries and small berries, with light scents of cocoa beans and tobacco on the finish. TASTE: Fresh and velvety, reflecting the characteristics that the wine had in the nose and a very delicate acidity. Complex but elegant and pleasant to drink.
